Status card game
People with very high status are coservative and closed-off.
- no eye contact
- eyes are distant, not really looking at anyone
- hands in pocket
- composed expressions
- heads held high (condescending)
People with medium-high status tend to be more proud and their gestures are more open. They have more people surrounding them.
- open, friendly, smiling
- eye contact
- holds head up
- arms by side, relaxed
These features make them seem more composed and that they hold a higher status by behaving less nervous.
People with lower status try to gain approval from others. They can be more withdrawn and hide from everyone else.
- folded arms to show that they're closing off other people (protective)
- hunched shoulders (closing in)
- hands in pockets
- looking down and avoiding eye contact
- when walking, tend to be quicker, nervous steps

Our Country's Good (Opening scene)
Task 2
Form:
Elements:
The Good
- Wisehammer's speech was harsh and full of anger, so the way it was delivered gave that sense of feeling
- emphasis -> good because it brought out words that needed to be noticed
- Mary's eyes flickering and moving up and down showed that she was thinking; confusion
Improvements
- Wisehammer's movements can match with his tempo, to show dynamics of speech
- Mary -> louder voice
- Arscott -> fiddle / twist cap to show the desperate need of food (angst)

Our Country's Good (Monologues of Sideway, Liz and Ketch)
Task 1
Liz Morden
Still image1: Liz Morden's father blames her for stealing and she is caught by the police. The expression on Liz's face is confusion and betrayed, while her father is trying to look innocent.
Still image2: Liz's brother suggests that she becomes a prostitute in order to earn a living. Liz's brother looks hopeful for his sister, but at the same time, desperate to shoo her away.
This deepened my understanding of injustice in the society at that period of time because there was a possibility of being betrayed even by your own family. It also shows that Liz's background is very dark and her escape routes are limited to those of the 'underworld'.
Ketch
By hotseating, we found out that Ketch was allegedly accused of manslaughter/murder. He was threatened to give names of the other people involved, or he would be hanged. So he did.
Some members of the group thought it was the only thing he could do to keep his neck away from the noose, while others thought the 'real' murderers deserved the hanging.
To me, it showed that even the justice system was shadowy and flawed. It felt like the justice system was not built to protect people, but to find faults in everyone so they could be hanged one way or another. It felt like exploitation.
